Eagle County Public Health & Environment – El Jebel Healthy Aging

Who We Are at the El Jebel Healthy Aging Program

Eagle County Healthy Aging program is designed to meet and enhance the physical, nutritional, mental, social and emotional needs of senior community members, so that they remain independent and in their own homes for as long as they desire to do so. These programs are provided directly, as well as through community collaboration, senior involvement, referrals, and administrative management.

What We Do

  • Senior Community Meals: The Healthy Aging program serves over 10,000 meals to seniors and disabled adults each year in Eagle County. This program seeks to provide meals of the highest quality while addressing the nutritional needs of older adults for a suggested donation of $3 a meal. The lunch sites can be found in Eagle, Minturn, and El Jebel. Reservations are required 24 hours in advance.
  • Home Delivered Meals: Home-delivered meals are prepared and delivered 2x/each week to home-bound adults over the age of 60 and disabled adults over the age of 18 at all Eagle County Senior lunch sites.
  • Health and Wellness: The Healthy Aging program supports fitness classes throughout Eagle County. Most classes request a small fee or voluntary donation for those 60 and older. The specific fitness activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays are listed in the newsletter and on the El Jebel website.
