Access AfterSchool

Access AfterSchool’s programs benefit youth in communities from Basalt to Rifle by providing creative and hands-on afterschool and summer enrichment and academic classes focused on: exposure to the arts (e.g., music, drama), health and safety (e.g., babysitting certification, Junior Police Academy), active outdoor experiences (e.g., horticulture, rock climbing, river ecology), and a variety of other life (e.g., cooking) and career skills (e.g., robotics, environmental education). These activities spark youths’ passions and allow them to apply academic content to their lives. Access brings diverse rural youth together in safe and engaging afterschool activities led by adult mentors, thus reducing crime, and improving youths’ academic development and self-confidence.

What We Do at Access AfterSchool

Access AfterSchool has been meeting the needs of kids and families in our communities since 2003. We work in five middle schools in the Roaring Fork and Re-2 School Districts in Western Colorado. Our  SecondShift afterschool program and BoostCamp summer program provide services to nearly 2,000 students each year. Our board and staff are committed to collaborate with area service providers and schools to deliver diverse, fun and educational programs.
